Chaupain is my absolute favorite bakery! It's 100% worth the 40 minute drive from my house. The yogurt is so decadent it's almost a dessert, to die for! Every pastry I've tried transports me to France. More than that, the staff is delightful and generous. Justin accommodated my family wonderfully and is beyond pleasant! You must give this bakery a try, it would be a crime not to.

Friendliest staff (hi Justin!) + best pastries = I'm loyal for life. I've written a review for the SC location but never this one. I'm way overdue for giving my praise for the food and staff. We just left the Chaupain on probably the busiest day I've ever seen them have. We try and hit them a little after peak brunch, but before 2pm so we can take advantage of the breakfast menu. Nonetheless, they were wiped out of pastries and every seat was taken. Every staff member was busting their butts to clear tables, trash, and take orders. Special shoutout to the gal at the counter (butterfly hair clip in today, and her fave meal is the Salmon Toast, sorry I didn't get her name) who kept a smile despite the rush. The real jewel of this review, and probably Chaupain, is Justin. I think every business (food industry or not) needs someone like him: calm, collected, and kind even during the chaos. I don't know what his role is, but I can tell that he's a great leader. Even on his crazy busy day, he took time to say hi, check on us, and have a conversation. He even gave us a kind goodbye with a rare tactic: using our names! Justin made us feel like we were regulars/friends, which is hard these days. I'm not sure what the magic sauce is for customer service training at Chaupain is, but whatever it is, it's working. PS What's Chaupain's second jewel? The cream cheese pastry. Please never get rid of it. :')
